Denali Tran-Le

Welcome

Hi, and thank you for visiting my personal site! I am an undergraduate (U2) student in Honours Math & CS at McGill University.

This summer 2026, I am a research intern at the School of Computer Science at McGill & Mila - Quebec AI Institute, working under Dr. Shalaleh Rismani and Prof. Jackie Cheung of the NLP Research Group, as well as Prof. Jin Guo of the Software Technology Lab and Prof. Eran Tal, the Canada Research Chair in Data Ethics. I am one the 2026 BMO Responsible AI Junior Scholars, awarded by McCAIS.

Previously, I was one of 100 Youth Delegates for Gen(Z)AI, a youth forum run out of the Centre for Media, Technology, and Democracy. This youth forum consisted of 100 young Canadians (17-23), convening across four regional forums in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Halifax, each focused on a distinct issue regarding AI in society. We deliberated on these distinct issues, culminating in policy recommendations that were compiled into one final report that was presented to the Senate on April 30, 2026.

Aside from my academic pursuits, I am an avid trivia player! I compete in both quizbowl and consensus trivia tournaments as part of the McGill Trivia Club. My favourite (academic) categories are math, cs, physics, and classical music (still behind on opera though…)
